You will agree a suitable date for the exchange of contracts

Your buyer, or his lender will appoint a Surveyor, usually via the mortgage broker.

Mortgage offers will be issued once lender requirements are satisfied
Exchange of contracts
Your solicitor will notify you when the contract is ready to be signed.
You will then agree a suitable date for completion of the deal.
Completion
Just make sure you have the keys and relevant documentation to hand so that you may pass them across.
